Much like bad weather tore through the north-west the prior day, City swept Manchester United aside at the Etihad. It was a convincing 3-0 win for Andrée Jeglertz’s side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their title credentials as they reinforced their place at the league summit.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for Manchester United

This result represented consecutive Women's Super League setbacks for the United manager's side for the initial occasion since spring 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.

The Red Devils' capability to manage domestic and European soccer with a limited roster has been a hotly discussed topic since they secured entry to the UCL.
